Lost Amid a Sea of Media Service Vendors

Vox PRPA is in search for a perfect fit with a media service provider to house our client media contact databases, distribute news releases, track media coverage and analyze results. The tasks sound easy enough but it’s amazing how difficult they can be to achieve. Over the years we’ve subscribed to a handful of different vendors for these services, but have never been completely satisfied with their offerings. The list of potential problems with these vendors is long: search results that don’t include the publications and contacts our clients need; processes that are tedious, cumbersome and counter intuitive; poor customer service; expensive “add-ons” that are unnecessary; the list goes on. As does the hunt.

Over the past few months, Voxsters have participated in numerous trials with these service providers. We’re taking notes and drawing conclusions of our own, but we’d love to hear from other PR professionals on which vendors they prefer, and why. Willing to trade chocolate and coffee for great advice!
